Luminous Flooring

If you are thinking about having a hardwood floor installed, you are making a wise decision.  Hardwood flooring is very beneficial to any homeowner no matter if you are considering one room or a whole house.  As many of you know just having hardwood floors increases the value of your home, but hardwood  has other advantages for your wallet as well as your health and well being.  Wood flooring will last  much longer than carpeting, once carpeting starts wearing out it must be replaced but when your hardwood floor starts looking distressed they can be resurfaced or refinished depending on the wear.  We have refinished floors that are over 100 years old, and they still looked great when we were finished.  This factor should always be considered when trying to choose from carpet or hardwood.  Carpet is also known to hold dust, dirt, allergens and dustmites under the carpeting.  these factors can take a toll on anyones well being but even more so if you suffer from asthma or other health conditions.  having hardwood eliminates this threat since these things cannot penetrate it to get underneath, so with just the simplest act of using a swiffer will clean these things from your house.

When considering Hardwood flooring there are many options to think about. The first choice is to pick between pre-finished or raw wood that is job site finished.  With pre-finished wood there is very minimal mess since there is no sanding to be done.  Pre-finished wood also has a great variety of plank sizes to choose from.  However, you are limited to the stlyes that you see in the stores.  If you choose a job-site finish the process may take a little longer since the raw wood has to be sanded and finished, but you can have it finished to your custom specifications. For example you may want your floors to match some cabinetry or furniture or maybe you want a custom look that just cant be found anywhere.  These are just a few considerations please check out our resources in the links section or contact us for more information.  We are more than happy to answer all your Hardwood flooring questions.
