RAW WOOD FLOOR INSTALLATION

support • Aug 03, 2021

Here’s some cool before and after pictures of a raw installation that was then sanded and finished.

A reason why customers like to do this is because they can then pick a custom color. You could have your floors stained to match your cabinets, or even to match pre existing floor.

When installing and finishing raw wood your choices are endless! Give us a call today to request a project quote!

So this is not the most perfect floor you will ever see. It has many flaws. It is the floor we sand on our training panel. Every time a new individual is hired, before they ever touch a sander in your home, they are taught on this floor. We can show them what to do or what not to do and it doesn't matter. It's the perfect starting point for our new hires. As far as I know we are the only company in the St. Louis area that can claim this. This panel has had many people come through it. Some are still with us, some are no longer doing flooring and some didn't work out here but are now with other companies continuing down the path we set them on. People ask us all the time. How do you find good help? Well this tool is how. We hire people all the time who are just willing to work with absolutely no experience. We then can train them to do things our way. Showing a new hire this during the interview process puts them at ease going into a new profession. They know they will not just be thrown to the wolves, so to speak. We have hired people from all walks of life. People from the fast food industry, musicians, mechanics, recent high school graduates or even people who just want to switch to another construction trade. Regardless of what people say, there are plenty of people out there who want to work and are willing to work hard. You just have to have the right tools and the willingness to teach.

All cardboard from job sites, flooring boxes, and our supplies is brought back to the shop so it can be taken to a local recycling facility! And let me tell you we collect a lot of cardboard! At least once a month we load up a van full of cardboard and drop it off because we believe it is the right thing to do. With the amount we receive it would be harmful to our planet to just throw this in our dumpster! We just want to do what we can to erase our carbon footprint!

Last Wednesday we dropped off a big load of supplies to Arnold Food Pantry! As always they were very excited to see us. They were nice enough to let Grace come in and take some photos of their shelves and gave her another tour of their facility! Everyone there is just so nice and thankful. I’ve gotta say this is one of my favorite places to donate to. If you ever want to do a good deed please keep their pantry in mind! Let’s continue to share the love and positive energy in 2021; we are determined to make this a great year!

Today we dropped off a carload of groceries to Sister Christine’s Food Bank, located at Saint Joseph’s Parish in Imperial. After talking with them we found out they were in need of some specific items: pasta sauce, condiments, side dishes, etc. Of course we got exactly what they needed! Sadly, due to Covid-19 they have not been receiving many donations and they are struggling to keep their shelves full. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. This is definitely an organization we will be doing work with again! If you are looking to help out your community in any way please contact Sister Christine’s Food Bank or your local food pantry. We have been beyond blessed this year and we are just so excited to be able to help our community and make a difference; we are already working on our next donation!

Just wrapped up this beautiful floor. Matt E. with the help of Cody and Grant sanded and finished this roughly 100 year old 2 1/4” pine floor in the Saint Louis area. For being such old wood it sure does look smooth and shiny! This is only phase one of three floors, stay tuned for some more photos as we work our way down!
