Meet our Team

In July of 2005, Matt was approached by two young men, looking to sell their small flooring business to pursue other opportunities. After much consideration, Matt and Micaela worked out a deal to not only buy the equipment, but their catchy name too!

In 2007, Matt attended his first class at the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA). He had such an amazing experience meeting and learning from professionals in the industry! It opened his eyes to what this small business could someday be. It was then that he and Micaela decided to close their remodeling company so Matt could commit to running Luminous Flooring full time.

In 2015, Matt hired his neighbor Dave. He had no flooring experience whatsoever. As Dave was still learning and trying to stay busy, he would clean up the job sites. Matt started to notice that our customers were not only complimenting the work, but also how clean the job site was. At times they seemed to be more excited about that than the flooring. The reaction from these customers not only helped us form our identity but the word of mouth advertising helped the business grow.

We started to slowly grow our staff. In 2017, we moved into our current shop space and bought our first van. In the spring of 2018, Matt’s son Jake (26) decided to come on as an installer. He has unfortunately since moved on to pursue other opportunities but helped us build the team we have today. In 2019, Micaela quit her full time job as a hair stylist to help Matt manage the office. Matt and Micaela’s daughter, Grace(21), has been involved in the business since she was young but came on full time in 2021 after graduating highschool. She is now the friendly voice you hear when you call the office. Matt and Micaela’s son, Mason(16), also comes into help on days off school or during the summertime. Grace’s fiance, Chandler, has even taken over as our lead installer. Luminous has truly become a family business!

Today we have upwards of 20 employees and have a fleet of 12 vans. We have 8 NWFA certified staff members and our company is Bona Certified. We have expanded to occupy three rental spaces, our most recently acquired space houses our new offices and showroom. We have continued to expand on the basic values that set us apart, going above and beyond everyday to make sure our customers are happy, not only with our work but our amazing customer service.

We had to replace our cast iron pipes under the basement floor which meant our flooring (LVP) had to be replaced. Their flooring crew had to remove what old flooring was left, sand replaced concrete to smooth out floors and work around all the furniture and stuff in the basement. They did a great job! They were very professional and courteous! Shout out to the crew-Devin, Hunter, David, Chandler and Michael! - Kim Howes Excellent job by Dardan and all of the other individuals that worked on our wood flooring project. This project included demolition of some old flooring, installation of some new wood flooring, lots and lots of sanding, then application of stain and finishes. The final product looks great.
